Ah, those tax cuts. Now we are seeing the effects of Republican trickle-down economics.
The Sands Hotel in Las Vegas had a better than $1 billion bump in its income and millions trickled down to Sands owner Marvin Adelson. The corporate tax cut went into stock buybacks so that fewer shares outstanding trickled down to increase the value of executive shares. Luckily, this tax cut included something special for real estate LLCs. Otherwise, our President would have missed out on the trickle-down to himself and his family
However, their tax cut has created an unfillable trillion-dollar hole in the federal budget. Fortunately, our Republican leaders know where to look for the solution; cut Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security. Never fear, however, Republican trickle-down will provide pitch forks for Senator Grassley’s “howling mob.” Republican electioneering is focused on fear; MS-13, illegals taking your jobs, fraudulent voters flooding our elections, Democrats taking your guns.
Clearly, the most creative thinking Republicans seem to be capable of is voter suppression. So, you could vote for Rep. Scott Tipton in November and support the already-rich. Or, you could vote for Diane Mitsch Bush. She supports Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, will defend programs that work, will listen to her constituents via town halls – something that Tipton, our current so-called representative, does not do – and will not be a knee-jerk party line voter. Your vote in this election is essential to your well-being. Don’t pass up the opportunity.
