The Durango 9-R School Board, our district and our community is devastated to have lost Elizabeth Testa so suddenly.
Elizabeth exemplified the best of humanity. She was always gentle, always kind, always supportive and always genuine. We always smiled when we saw her and worked together on the many worthwhile projects that the Durango Educational Foundation championed.
Her intelligence, warmth and writing ability made an unbeatable combination and the school community gladly followed her into any project she suggested.
People like Elizabeth bring out the best in the rest of us, and make us stand up a little straighter and to try to be a little bit better than we might be on our own.
Losing Elizabeth is heartbreaking, and we want her family to know that we will do our best to keep her spirit strong as we move forward without her.
