Needham to host tree-planting project

The fourth annual tree-planting project at Needham Elementary School is underway.

Trees will be planted on the north side of the campus near the gazebo to expand the habitat study area. Native trees and shrubs representative of natural vegetative zones found in Southwest Colorado will be planted to create an outdoor classroom.

Work parties are scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, all day Wednesday and May 8 in the afternoon. Participants should bring work gloves, shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
