I read with great interest the story about the proposed Purgatory expansion into the Ice Creek area.
Unfortunately, the U.S. Forest Service link contains a most confusing map.
Although I am intimately familiar with this area, it took me a long time to figure out that the top of the map was not north but east or southeast, contrary to normal conventions. Then I was able to see just a stub of what appears to be the top of Lift 4 and figured out from the notes that Lift 4 would be upgraded.
The proposed Ice Creek expansion, which I favor, would make no sense at all unless Lift 4 were upgraded, but nowhere is it explained what that upgrade would be. With the problems this season with Lift 1, it is critical that Lift 4 be upgraded in speed and chair capacity.
