The sign in this photo highlights the benefits of Trimble Hot Springs, promoting “Its Healing Waters.” The text reads: “A Positive Cure for Rheumatism. Also for Skin Diseases of Every Nature, Liver and Kidney Issues, Bronchitis, Catarrah (sic), Stomach Trouble, and All Diseases That the Flesh is Heir To.” This advertising language appeared in the resort’s print ads from 1907 to 1915. A 1907 newspaper advertisement listed weekly hotel rates ranging from $14 to $21, depending on the room’s location and required amenities. The ad included access to the baths and complimentary use of hot water. It also noted that the Hot Springs were just 20 minutes from Durango. – Ed Horvat for Animas Museum, edhorvat@animasmuseum.org (Catalog Number: 17.07.36 from the La Plata County Historical Society Photo Collections)
