The city of Durango will give away free mulch until it is gone Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, on a first-come, first-served basis. The mulch pile is located at the Van Dal dump site at the top of Tech Center Drive.

The city will have a loader to help load mulch into personal vehicles and trailers from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or material may be hand-loaded by residents. Mulched material is mixed and consists of chipped residential tree trimmings from spring and fall cleanup as well as Christmas trees.
