The 2024 presidential primary election will be held March 5. Ballots will be mailed to registered voters Feb. 12. The primary election is only open to voters registered as Independent, Democratic or Republican. Voters registered as minor party voters are not eligible to vote in the primary.

Minor party voters may change their party affiliation at www.govotecolorado.gov or through the La Plata County Clerk & Recorder’s office by Monday (Feb. 12) to participate in the primary. If a Democratic or Republican voter wants to change their affiliation to a different major party or to an Independent, the deadline is also Monday.
