EPA to hold second community meeting Sunday

One-on-one sessions to be held Saturday night

The Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Sunday to discuss the latest information about the toxic spill from Gold King Mine. The meeting will be held at the Miller Middle School Auditorium, 2608 Junction Street. The meeting will be live-streamed. The link to listen to the public meeting will be posted to the La Plata County website at www.co.laplata.co.us/emergency, San Juan Basin Health Department’s Website at www.sjbhd.org, La Plata County Government Facebook and San Juan Basin Health Department Facebook pages.

Also on Saturday, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., the EPA’s public information officer, Libby Faulk, will be available to visit with community members one-on-one. Individual conversations will be limited to 10 minutes. She will meet with members at the La Plata County Administration Building, 1101 East Second Ave.
