Sam Pillus, 13, the son of Kara Hellige, takes Halloween to a whole new level. For the past four years he has constructed a haunted house for all the neighborhood children to enjoy. The Mountain Middle School student has been preparing this year's haunted house for an entire year, his mother said in an email to The Durango Herald. Instead of buying decorations, he builds them himself, including two moving animatronics. One of them is a skeleton in a coffin that leaps 8 feet into the air. He also constructed a scary clown.
