Ignite Gymnastics of Ignacio took four gymnasts to the gold-level Region 3 championships Friday through Sunday at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, and all four placed well in individual and all-around competitions.

Competing with gymnasts from Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado, Ignite’s athletes rose to the occasion.

“We are ecstatic; they all placed,” said coach Liz Herring.

Two gymnasts won silver medals in individual events.

Aubrianna Foutz won a silver on bars by scoring a 9.5, and Koralea Brown won a silver on beam with a 9.125.

Foutz also finished 13th all-around in the region in the junior A3 group, while Brown placed 16th in the all-around competition, also in the junior A3 group.

Laeliana Shubert had her best result on the beam, placing 11th. Shubert also placed 14th in the junior C5 group’s all-around competition.

Samantha Riddell had a strong vault to place seventh in the event. Riddell placed 12th all-around in the senior B5 group.
