Century Link has no estimated time of resumption of service
A widespread phone and internet outage in Southwest Colorado occurred after a construction crew on Broadway Avenue in Cortez mistakenly cut a fiber line Friday afternoon.
“We’re down, the 911 lines are down in Cortez, Archuleta County, Ignacio, Telluride, Gunnison,” said a dispatcher from central dispatch in Durango. “All 911 calls are ringing through to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, and they’re notifying us by radio.”
The administrative phone service is spotty, she said. The dispatcher did not know when service might be restored, saying an email from Century Link only said there was no estimated time for the fiber line to be repaired.
