The fast-food chain is promoting its “Pay with Lovin’” campaign as part of a marketing strategy.

Though many Durangoans enjoy a healthful lifestyle and shun fast-food chains, this offer might entice some to head over in hopes of scoring a free Big Mac.

The Durango location, 201 West College Drive, awarded unsuspecting customer Danette Jackson of Durango a free meal when she stopped by on her lunch break around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.

“If I would have known this, I would have ordered more food,” she told the cashier.

When asked who she would be “paying the love” to, she said her two children.

Customers will be randomly selected for a free meal through Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day.
