Poem: At The Clinic

Isolated here in the city

Is a refuge for those who ask

Desperate young men sharing

Tales of helpless insanity

Where secrets are stuffed

And spirits have withered away

Smoking cigarettes in covered

Passages outside their rooms

A brotherhood for survival forms

Caring hands reach out

To help one another

Face this painful reality

So long ignored while high

Coming together

Touching broken lives with

Encouragement and hope of mending

In this safe hiding place

Our home for now.
