Ignacio High School sophomore Chrystianne Valdez and her Bobcats’ teammates have reached heights that nobody else in the San Juan Basin League can boast. They’re the only team in the league that picks up a pole vault, so they hosted a small league competition among themselves Wednesday afternoon at Wolverine Country Stadium in Bayfield. The rest of the track and field team will compete this weekend at the league meet in Grand Junction.
