U.S. 550 reopened after rear-end accident near Trimble Lane

U.S. Highway 550 north of Durango was reopened about 2 p.m. Sunday after it was closed after a distracted driver rear-ended a line of cars waiting to turn into an RV park near Trimble Lane.

Trooper Sean Schlessman with the Colorado State Patrol said a car driven by Hannah Page of Durango hit a car driven by Katherine Holbert, also of Durango.

Holbert’s car was the last car in line of cars that had halted behind several RVs attempting to turn left into the RV Park.

Holbert was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, Schlessman said.

Page was cited for careless driving, Schlessman said.
