Youth football teams heading to playoffs

Most of the Bayfield-Ignacio Young American Football League teams have had successful seasons and are heading to playoff games tomorrow in New Mexico and Durango.

The fifth grade team has a 5-3 record and plays at 11 a.m. in Durango versus the Kirtland Broncos.

The fourth-grade team has a 6-2 record after a forfeit last weekend and a win Sept. 7 over the Farmington Oilers. The team is coached by Eric Spady. The boys play at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Bloomfield against Kirtland.

In third grade, Bayfield plays the Aztec Tigers at 9 a.m. tomorrow in Aztec.

The sixth-grade YAFL team had a tough season but did win their final game of the year. They did not make playoffs this year.
