Breakfast with Santa tomorrow
Santa Claus will be in Bayfield tomorrow for breakfast at the elementary school. This fundraiser supports Bayfield Early Education Programs, the local non-profit preschool. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is $10 per adult, $5 for preschool to 5th grade, and children two and under eat free. Silent auction items include an iPad, a wagon of movies, coloring books, blanket, iPad mini and headphones, Debbie Janus quilt, overnight stays at the General Palmer or Doubletree hotels, and much more.
There will be entertainment and a craft area for kids to make photo frames for their Santa picture, ornaments, beaded necklaces, and coloring pages.

Oxford neighbors holding potluck
The Oxford Community Christmas Potluck is at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Grange Hall at 8016 Highway 172. The event is open to the public. For more information, call 563-4406.
Craft class to create holiday cards
The Pine River Library is sponsoring monthly "Pine River Creates" days at the Pine River Senior Center. Led by crafter and card-maker, Brenda Marshall, the monthly event is free and open to all ages.
"The cards are simple to make, and we bring all the supplies," says Marshall. "We just ask our participants to bring their creativity!"
The "Pine River Creates" days are the third Tuesday of every month, at 10 a.m. at the Pine River Senior Center in Bayfield. The next event is Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Bells for BEEP raising funds for preschool
Adopt a bell for $5 and enter your name in Bayfield Early Education Program's drawing for six VISA gift cards. Values range from $100 on up to $500. The drawing will take place at our Holiday Program at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18 at the new Performing Arts Center at the Bayfield High School. You need not be present to win.

Mercy offers Blue Christmas Service
The holidays may not be the most wonderful time of the year for people who have suffered a loss. Mercy's Blue Christmas Service is designed for those who are grieving. Staff, patients and members of the community are invited to the 11th annual Blue Christmas Service at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 in the Mercy Chapel.
The 30-minute service, led by Mercy chaplains, will feature readings, a time of remembrance, live music and a guest speaker offering a healing message. The service is for anyone who finds the Christmas season difficult because of the death or estrangement of a loved one, unemployment, loneliness, illness, loss of a pet, or other hardships.

Church honoring Lady of Guadalupe
The Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe is Dec. 12. The day will be celebrated by the St. Peter-St. Rosa Catholic Church at its monthly service on Sunday, Dec. 21 with a Mass celebrated at 12:15 p.m. and a fiesta dinner, raffle, silent auction, and activities afterwards. All are welcome at this annual event. Raffle tickets may be purchased from a member of the Carmelitas for $1 each or six for $5. St Peter-St. Rosa Church was built in 1978 merging the Rosa, N.M. and Arboles churches when the two original churches were torn down to make room for Navajo Lake Reservoir. The church serves families in the Arboles, Allison, and Tiffany area and is located at 18851 Highway 151 in Arboles.
