In response to Renee Parsons’ Oct. 5 letter, “Is it time for a Unified Library District?” the answer is no, it is not.
Funny how those living in Durango seem to have little interest in Bayfield or Ignacio until they see something we do better.
There are good reasons Ignacio and Bayfield have many superior community and civic services, including Bayfield’s national award-winning library.
We already contribute many of our county and sales tax dollars so you in Durango can have easy access to all kinds of “desirable and necessary” amenities (a department of motor vehicles office, for example).
Why not just drive to Bayfield or Ignacio if you want a great library experience? Do us a favor and leave our libraries alone, thank you.
