Chandler’s 17 paces DHS win
Durango is into the championship game at the Lady Tiger Rumble.
The Durango High School girls basketball team secured a 38-34 win against Piedra Vista of Farmington in the semifinals of the tournament hosted by Aztec. It was the second win of the season for the Demons (8-4) against the Panthers (8-6).
Katrina Chandler led DHS with 17 points, while Stephanie Basye and Taylor Edwards each added seven points.
Demons head coach Tim Fitzpatrick said Emma Hackett came off the bench and provided big minutes defensively to help DHS hold off a good PV team.
Now, FLC will face the host Aztec Tigers (9-5), who defeated Los Alamos 61-33 in the other semifinal Friday.
