75 years ago: Mrs. A.W. Ayres acted as hostess at the Sewing Club’s weekly gathering. They met at the home of Mrs. Frank Brood, where Miss Neil Nelson attended as a guest.
50 Years Ago: The Durango Public Library announced its reopening date after being closed for a $175,000 expansion project. Books were placed into new stacks as the enlarged library was nearing full operating condition.
25 years ago: Five people were cited for drunken driving during a 24-hour period. Four were taken to detox and one was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center. A 16-year-old boy was also taken to detox after being cited for underage drinking on the 600 block of Sixth Street.
