The Durango Swim Club opened its 2013-14 season Sept. 28 and 29 at Durango Community Recreation Center.
Durango hosted Aspen, Cortez, Farmington, Farmington FUEL, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction and Pagosa Springs, and the DSC boys and girls teams won by nearly 1,000 points, according to head coach Suzanne Schieltz.
“This was a great home meet for our team,” Schieltz said in an email. “We are really looking at their stroke technique early in the season in order to hone in their skills for the year.”
The Durango Swim Club also welcomed several new members to the team: Adelaide Cady, Aja Carney, Fiona Chandler, Andre Craig, Avery Dean, Taylor Dean, Abbey Gresh, Betty Holcomb, Maggie Holcomb, Ruth Holcomb, Sofia Johancen-Walt, Wei Lambert, Zada Lile, Jasmine McCoy, Sydney McCoy, Mya Oyler, Ryder Radcliff, Corbin Reinhardt Merin Schmidt, Lily Solheim and Micah Stahl.
New swimmers are welcome to join by calling Schieltz at 779-8643.
