Celebrate the Boys & Girls Club’s impact

This week, more than 3,420 Boys & Girls Clubs across America and around the world celebrate the diverse movement that’s dedicated to positively impacting the lives of kids and teens. Club staff commit to providing a high-quality club experience where club members feel physically and emotionally safe. At club, kids receive support and recognition from caring adults, and they’re provided with opportunities to try new things, have fun, and feel a sense of belonging.

The Boys & Girls Club of La Plata County serves more than 1,285 youth annually with programs where they advance academic achievement, develop good character and citizenship throughout leadership opportunities, and learn about healthy lifestyle choices. I believe we can all agree that those characteristics are important to the future of our community. Programs and activities at the club are kept intentionally affordable, with financial assistance available to ensure the Club experience is an opportunity for all families of La Plata County.

Celebrating the impact of the Boys & Girls Club of La Plata County means celebrating generous business leaders, civic groups and individuals who share their commitment to a healthy community by investing in the club. Celebrating the impact of the club means celebrating the club’s dedicated staff members who serve as consistent role models, making a difference each day in the lives of our community’s kids. Celebrating the impact of the club means celebrating our club parents who entrust their kids to our care.

Happy National Boys & Girls Club Week!
