While I know many are in favor of the 32nd Street bridge, I agree with Tim Wolf (“
Our recreation facilities are in sore need of an update, particularly Chapman Hill ice arena. The facility is more than 30 years old and provides only part-time ice.
With only seven months of ice, hockey and figure skating athletes are forced to travel hundreds of miles to train in spring and summer – the time when school is not in session and much improvement can be made.
Durango, like Vail, Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs and Aspen, can more than support year-round ice.
Let’s use the money to enter the new era and update Chapman Hill ice arena!
It’s time.
