Letters: Don’t forget how we were gouged on gas

During this time of stress, uncertainty and self-sacrifice, please think of health care staff working in direct patient care.

They are putting their own health at risk to care for our community members, working with minimal personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, gowns) due to a nationwide shortage.

They do this without hesitation because they are selfless, caring and kind.

So as you go about your day, please, practice social distancing, wash your hands, don’t go to the store if you are ill, etc. These are the things that we can do to help make the situation for our hospitals a little less critical.

Our doctors, nurses and other staff need you to do your part to prevent an overwhelming surge of patients and stop community transmission of this virus.

Take care of yourself, exercise if able, eat healthy, manage your stress, help your neighbor, smile at a stranger.

There is no need to panic, we are strong and we can get through this together.
