Montoya is proven and trusted at LPEA

La Plata Electric Association continues to receive industry awards and high customer satisfaction from its users.

One reason for that continued excellence is the leadership of the board. Under the board president, Davin Montoya, LPEA continues to evolve in an appropriate and methodical way to ensure electrical power distribution for all of its customers at a fair price.

Susan Atkinson recently wrote (Herald, April 10) that Mr. Montoya’s greatest strength is his vast knowledge at La Plata Electric. Clearly, that is one of his strengths. I would have to say that his greatest strengths are his professionalism, honesty and integrity. His personal reputation and years of dedicated service speak for themselves.

She claims Montoya won’t learn any new tricks. That may be correct. He doesn’t need any new, unproven tricks to move LPEA forward or to get re-elected. He is just an honest, hard-working person who knows what has gotten us all the reliable electricity that we have come to rely on. He has a long history of listening to subject matter experts and LPEA customers to make the difficult decisions moving the organization into the future. Those decisions cannot be bought by special interests.

Montoya knows there are 30,000 LPEA members, and every dollar they spend on electricity is important to them. That is why we trust him to continue leading LPEA into the future while navigating through the emerging technologies and regulatory changes in the industry.

That is why I support Davin Montoya for the LPEA board representing District 2.
