The Life-Long Learning Lecture Series at Fort Lewis College will present “Climate Change, Population, and the Ethics of Making Babies” at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 23, in Room 130 of Noble Hall.
Travis N. Rieder, philosopher and bioethicist at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics in Baltimore, will give a presentation about how having big families in a world of more than 7 billion people may be wrong. Rieder will discuss basic models and predictions, the role of human population in climate change and moral principles in favor of small families.
