It isn’t just Blacks, Natives, Latinos, Asians or any other culture in this country being seen as threatening, less than, ineffective, disposable, too different to accept, excluded and ignored, not worthy of getting to know, or being offered assistance needed to succeed. Our own white society is pretty darn good at dumping those, and more judgments on each other!
Examples: someone’s great sense of entitlement, attempts at making one feel stupid, unworthy of opportunity, being incompetent, not good enough, not fast enough, too smart for some, not smart enough for others, or incapable of having anything valuable, conforming or of importance to offer.
It is an overwhelming epidemic in this country, our states, our cities and our small towns. Is it any wonder suicide is on the rise? That people are protesting in the streets? Or that greed has become so aggressive, vicious and ugly? That money decides everything. Everyone struggling to live their lives on all levels of existence.
Big business is turning its heads and hearts away from the very people from whom it gained support and who facilitated it becoming successful. It is the continual workings of a reward-and-punishment society. It is difficult, and it is heartbreaking.
We really are in all of this together, because we know in our heart of hearts that all lives do matter.
