Community Resource Center of Denver will bring its “Development Officer Series” to Durango in February and March.
Each session will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave., and will cover a topic to expand the skills and knowledge of nonprofit professionals in Southwest Colorado:
The Feb. 2 session, lead by the center’s president, Maria Fabula, will instruct participants to build their organization’s individual giving program through prospect research, donor cultivation, individual giving solicitation, and stewardship.The Feb. 14 session, lead by Rebecca Gorrell, director of education and leadership development, will cover diversifying funding and effectively engaging donors.The Mar. 8 session, lead by Alan Sherwood, president of Sherwood Consulting, will provide tools and strategies for planning successful capital campaigns and building sustainable planned-giving programs.Through support from the Ballantine Family Fund, the full series will be offered for $100 less than the normal cost of attendance.
