The annual Pumpkin Drop-Off to support local farmers will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 2 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.. and the city of Durango Three Springs Police Substation, 545 Wilson Gulch Drive.
All candles and decorations must be removed before drop-off, and volunteers will monitor drop-off locations to minimize contamination.
The drop-offs are an alternative to leaving pumpkins out to attract bears and other wildlife or tossing them in the trash. Donated pumpkins will be used to feed livestock.
