Former resident graduates college
Former Durango resident Jeffrey Berghorn graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a degree in energy and land management.
While at CMU, Berghorn played four years of college football.
Berghorn and his family lived in Durango from 1998 to 2003, where he attended Riverview Elementary School.
After his graduation from CMU, Berghorn has accepted a position in the Denver area working in the oil and gas industry as a land professional.
Sobei Hamlin becomes member of organization
The National Society of High School Scholars announces Durango High School student Sobei Hamlin of Durango has been selected to become a member of the organization.
The society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment.
Membership in the society entitles qualified students to enjoy a wide variety of benefits, including scholarship opportunities, academic competitions, free events, member-only resources, publications, participation in programs offered by educational partners, personalized recognition items and publicity honors.
