Rotary Club of Durango to host talk about Aztec Ruins, Chaco

Rotary Club of Durango will host a presentation by Denise Robertson, superintendent of Aztec Ruins National Monument and Chaco Culture National Historical Park, at 6 p.m. June 1 on Zoom.

Robertson will be joined by Tracy Bodnar, board president of the nonprofit Chaco Culture Conservancy. Their presentation will showcase the parks and discuss special projects that educate visitors while preserving the sites for future generations.

Robertson has served at several western National Park Service sites and the National Mall in various roles, including park ranger, education and interpretation.

Bodnar has worked with 13 different NPS sites, mostly in the Southwest. After retiring from park management at Aztec Ruins, she joined the boards of Friends of Aztec Ruins and Friends of Chaco and guided a merger of the two groups.

Virtual visitors using Zoom are welcome. For more information, email Bruce Rodman at Mtnman16@gmail.com.
