What should be the priorities of a revised health care plan?
Well, start with what President Donald Trump has promised, “a beautiful health care plan, even more people covered, lower premiums, better coverage, no cuts to Medicare or Social Security, etc.”
Sounds good – no – it sounds great! Republicans, remember that since there is no balance of power now and Republicans hold majorities in both the U.S. Senate and House, the executive branch and the Supreme Court, this is your chance to fulfill these presidential promises to the American people.
These are things that the majority of Americans would like to see in health care legislation.
Disappoint us at your own peril. Do not pass a plan that removes 20-plus million people from coverage, only covers pre-existing conditions through high-risk, high-pay pools, allows states to remove support of its Medicaid patients or provides tax breaks to insurance company CEOs for their increased bonuses.
Be responsible to your employers – the American people.
