Fort Lewis College, Colorado State University Extension Office and Rocky Mountain Farmer’s Union will present a produce safety workshop from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
Farmers will learn about the Food Safety Modernization Act, produce safety rule, microorganisms that affect produce safety, how to identify microbial risks, practices to reduce risks and the farm food safety plan.
Cost is $50 and includes coffee, snacks, lunch, information and a certificate of completion.
