Skyhawks Scoreboard: Fort Lewis College’s Max Peets named RMAC special teams player of the week

FLC women golf 10th at RMAC Fall Preview

Max Peets, the punter for the Fort Lewis College football team, was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s special teams player of the week.

Peets, a sophomore from Parker, punted 12 times during the Skyhawks’ 17-13 victory against Black Hills State on Saturday in Spearfish, South Dakota.

In the win, the Skyhawks’ first of the season, Peets averaged 45.6 yards per punt and pinned the Yellow Jackets inside the 20-yard line twice. Only five of Peets’ 12 punts were returned by Black Hills State.

“He was huge for us,” FLC head coach Joe Morris said after the win. “He helped us flip the field position all day, and that’s big for the defense.”

Peets and FLC will host Adams State in the 52nd annual Musket Game at noon Saturday at Ray Dennison Memorial Field on the FLC campus.
