First National Bank of Durango (FNBD) has launched a new philanthropic program called First Employees Give. All bank employees were allotted $100 to donate to the charitable organization of their choice, and a total of $8,400 was given.
The following are the designated non-profit and charitable organizations chosen by FNBD employees: La Plata Family Center Coalition, La Plata Youth Services, Volunteers of America, Pine River Valley Heritage Society, Pine River Centennial Rotary Club, Habitat For Humanity, Mercy Health Foundation, Annie's Orphans, De Colores Civitan Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, La Plata County Meals on Wheels, La Plata County Humane Society, The Women's Resource Center, Be FRANK Foundation, The Wild Animal Sanctuary, United Way of Southwest Colorado, Big Picture High School, Boys and Girls Club, San Juan Symphony, Needham Elementary School, Country Kids With Cancer, Durango Youth Soccer Association, Durango Demons Baseball, St. Columba Church, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Wounded Warrior Project, Southwest Conservation Corps, Adaptive Sports Association, Bayfield Lions Club, Community Connections, La Plata Homes Fund, Hardly Angels, KSUT Public Radio, Guardian Angel Home Health Care, Hospice of Mercy, Sexual Assault Services Organization, Durango Pee Wee Wrestling, Blue Star Moms of America, and Animas High School.
In addition to First Employees Give, FNBD has a community outreach initiative called First Community Gives. This program awards hundreds of thousands of dollars to local organizations every year. It was created to serve as the bank's charitable giving foundation and ensures a widespread and effective outreach to the many deserving organizations in our area.
FNBD is committed to improving the lives and financial vitality of those they serve. The bank was established in 1882 and is the oldest community bank in Durango.
