A fun fact from La Plata Conservation District: Did you know fall is one of the best times to get at those pesky thistles?
Weeds are especially vulnerable right before winter. With the “Miracle May” rains, a Category 5 weed crisis is developing in La Plata County. It will only be worse in 2016, unless we can kill some of the growth before winter arrives.
Thanks to the La Plata Conservation District and grant funds from the Colorado State Conservation Board, you can recoup up to 50 percent of your herbicide costs with a maximum $1,000 payment.
