In response to the editorial on gun control (Herald, Jan. 7): You know, facts are inconvenient. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Pew Research Center, gun homicides by both total number and rate per hundred thousand are down significantly since 1993. As of 2013, the last date for national statistics, were at their lowest point. So I am not sure what trends you are speaking about.
