The McLachlan fliers can’t be recycled!

Election season is in full swing and politics are spicy. Midterms are upon us and many Americans are turning out for their local elections, making a serious impact on their local governments.

This is my first midterm I will be voting in, since I am a young voter, 2016 being my first voting season. I’ve been keeping a close eye on our local representative election and specifically watching Barbara McLachlan.

It’s ironic that McLachlan campaigns primarily on an ecological position, yet seems to have a complete disregard for the environment. No less than 10 election fliers came from McLachlan in the past week alone. That is for a single registered Democrat in my household.

How can someone who claims to support the environment and clean energy so blatantly waste non-recyclable campaign fliers like that?

As someone who cares about the environment and greatly distrusts politicians, this is a massive red flag. Think of all of the registered Democrats in our district. Thousands. Tens of thousands. Every single voter was given a comparable number of fliers. We’re looking at a minimum of a hundred thousand pieces of non-recyclable trash distributed all over the district.

Does that seem environmentally friendly to you?
