Chris Bettin is running for city council in Durango.
I have known Chris for more than 15 years, and I’ll be voting for him come April for a variety of reasons. Chris is an intelligent person who is straightforward and pragmatic, while at the same time a man of principle. He does his homework and is consistently well-prepared to state his case and defend his position.
With that being said, he’s always willing to listen and can change his view if warranted. I’m not surprised that he has such diverse endorsements.
A longtime Durango resident and Fort Lewis graduate, Chris has a deep understanding of what’s vital to our community both for the short-term and the long-term. Smart growth and a real desire to provide affordable, diverse housing options for the melting pot of outdoor-loving citizens of Durango are very important to him.
High on the list as well is ensuring a sustainable environment on all fronts so that folks like you and me can prosper. He’s raising a family here, like a lot of us, and knows that decisions we make today, together, will impact us now and future generations to come.
Chris has my vote, and should get yours, too.
