Public to discuss fire-impact fees Tuesday

Durango City Council and La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public meeting to discuss the Durango Fire Protection District proposal to enact fire-impact fees on new developments within the fire district. The meeting will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, in Smith Chambers at City Hall, 949 East Second Ave.

Community members will have the opportunity to learn about the proposal and provide elected officials and fire district staff and board members with their comments.

The public comment period will follow an overview of the proposal given by fire Chief Hal Doughty.
