Bite of Jazz concert series continues
Music in the Mountains will host the next installment in its “Bite of Jazz” dinner and concert series at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 910 East Third Ave.
The concert will feature the Mac Jazz Quartet performing a tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim. Tickets are $25 and include a dinner before the concert prepared by the High Notes, a Music in the Mountains special-events committee, with wine and beer donated by The Wine Merchant.

Film documents shooting at El Moro
The documentary “Tragedy at El Moro” will be screened at 6 p.m. April 21 at El Moro Spirits & Tavern, 945 Main Ave.
The documentary investigates the 1906 shooting death of sheriff William J. Thompson at the hands of the acting town marshall, Jessie C. Stansel.
The feature-length film was produced by Fastforward Media and directed by Preston Benson.
Narrated by Don Hinkley, the film tells the story of the how the two lawmen became bitter enemies and follows the trial. The project features local historian and retired history professor Duane Smith, as well as Sharon Greve, a historian for the Durango Police Department.
Members of History Alive Durango will attend the event in period dress.
Each ticket will include a free beer or cocktail and appetizers. Tickets are $15 the day of the event or can be purchased in advance for $13 at El Moro Spirits & Tavern.

Marvel Grange to host jam sessions
Monthly jam sessions for all musicians and budding musicians will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on the fourth Saturday of every month, beginning April 25 at the Marvel Grange Hall, 217 County Road 133A.
