Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado announced that Gloria Kaasch-Buerger has joined its board of directors as the town of Silverton representative.
Kassch-Buerger has lived in Southwest Colorado for almost 20 years and holds a bachelor of arts in communications from Fort Lewis College, a master of arts in political science and public management from University of Colorado. Kaasch-Buerger was approved at the July 29 board meeting.
The Region 9 Board is made up of 26 members, 17 representatives from local governmental jurisdictions and nine members from the private sector. Other San Juan County representatives include County Administrator William Tookey and business owner Paul Zimmerman.
The board meets quarterly.
