La Plata County Human Society said in a press release Tuesday that it recently received an 11-week old puppy with a heart murmur. The puppy is one of many animals that require extensive medical care, including a cat whose leg was amputated after he was found in a gopher trap, and a dog who is undergoing weekly treatment for an old knee injury and hip dysplasia.
LPCHS seeks donations to help offset the growing costs of the animals’ medical care.
