Winter celebrations continue this weekend with Vallecito’s Winterfest, which offers a jam-packed schedule of outdoor and indoor events that kick off at 8 a.m. Saturday with a pancake breakfast at Vallecito Country Market.

Winterfest includes ice fishing clinics, dog sled rides, a kids ice sculpture event, wine tasting and cheese pairing, a Ullr and Skadi Fire and Ice Happy Hour/Costume Contest, and the Winterfest Soiree.

Durango Cool Jazz features Catherine Russell on Friday and Saturday. The New York City-based Russell sings classics and ballads backed by a band.

Larry Carver and Jack Ellis will perform for the first time since much of Ellis’ musical equipment was destroyed in a house fire.
