The Ignacio High School boys basketball will play for a district title Saturday.

The Bobcats reached the final Friday by winning their semifinal 58-38, for its second tournament win in two days. The Bobcats also beat Ridgway Thursday to start the tournament in a game postponed from Tuesday because of weather.

The No. 2 Bobcats will face No. 1 Mancos for the league crown at 2:30 p.m. at Montezuma-Cortez High School. Mancos won its semifinal against Telluride 74-36.

The Ignacio High School girls basketball team, meanwhile, had to play the No. 1 seed in the 2A District 3 semifinals on Friday at M-CHS, Cedaredge.

The Bruins proved why they were the top seed, beating the Bobcats 55-25.

The Bruins led 20-4 after the first quarter and 40-12 at halftime. The second half was nearly even, but Cedaredge added a couple points to lead to finish on top and advance to the championship against No. 2 Mancos at 1 p.m. Saturday. Mancos beat No 3 Olathe 42-39 in their Friday semifinal.

Ignacio’s girls are now 10-10 overall and rank No. 29 in the 2A Ratings Percentage Index.
