While it sounds like the filling of a sandwich or ingredients in a casserole, Chick’n Bac’n Ranch is actually a farm near Elmore’s Corner.
“We started with eggs, and now we raise our own chickens," said Amanda Brenneman. “So we sell whole chickens as well and soy-free pork products. We raise Nigerian dwarf goats as well, but that’s for fun.”
She said she has been ranching since 2021.
“I’ve always loved animals,” she said. “I actually woke up one day, and there was a house with 20 acres in my email, and then we sold our other house and moved out. Next thing you know, two chickens turned into 100, and two goats turned into 100.”
Brennan previously sold Chick’n Bac’n Ranch’s wares at the Bayfield Farmers Market and began selling at the Durango Farmers Market in August 2024.
The eggs, chicken and pork can also be found at Brenneman’s other business, Graze Colorado, which sells charcuterie boards, sandwiches and baked goods, alongside products from other artisans and vendors. Graze can be found at the Durango Farmers Market, at its Three Springs store at 691 County Road 233, and its downtown location at 171 E. 7th St. as soon as that location finishes renovations in June.
“All of our animals are raised very carefully and also with love,” Brenneman said. “I think that’s super important. We love to provide people with really good food. … I think everything that we do is very specific to keeping everything local and delicious.”
