A mill and overlay resurfacing project on a 3.4-mile stretch of Wildcat Canyon Road (County Road 141) near Breen will reduce traffic to one lane beginning Monday, according to a news release from the La Plata County Road and Bridge Department.
The closure will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays between La Plata Highway (Colorado Highway 140) east through the intersection with County Road 136. Barring delays from weather or equipment breakdowns, the estimated completion date is Oct. 17, the release said.
Efforts will be made to minimize traffic delays during peak morning and afternoon commuting hours, but delays of up to 20 minutes should be expected, the release said.
“Motorists are encouraged to allow a little extra travel time for their commute and to drive with caution through the work zone, for their own safety and the safety of the work crews,” the release said.
