Volunteers needed for Bayfield Heritage Days

More volunteers are welcome - and needed - for this year's Bayfield Heritage Days Celebration, set for Sept. 27 in downtown Bayfield, with other events taking place throughout town.

In partnership with the Pine River Heritage Society, Bayfield Heritage Days celebrates the Pine River Valley's ranching and agricultural heritage.

The event always has been run by volunteers. In recent years, the event has been organized by the Pine River Centennial Rotary Club.

Siting burnout by the same club members organizing the event, the event organizers have proposed that Heritage Days rotate organization each year among different entities, such as the Bayfield Lions Club and possibly the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce.

Other organizations are welcome to join, as well.

There will be a kickoff planning party and pizza social for the event at 6 p.m. Monday, March 31 at the Bayfield Lions Hall. Anyone who would like to volunteer for Heritage Days is welcome to attend.
