#RecallGwen has become quite the catchphrase in Durango these last few weeks. I personally jumped on the bandwagon when I heard her statement, “I was elected to make the decisions.”
No, Gwen, you were elected to carry out the wants of those in your county.
Americans For Prosperity is not behind the recall, nor are the Koch brothers. We have asked numerous times for proof of your statement (or to remove the statement completely). Neither has happened and those who have asked had their comments deleted and are blocked from all communications now.
So let me say it loud and clear: All the money that has been invested in the campaign and the La Plata Liberty Coalition has come out of the pockets of we the people of La Plata County. Period!
I have a very hard time supporting a public servant who has personally blocked me from all electronic communications simply because I asked her to be truthful with her statements regarding the recall campaign, one who has no problem with trying to force the people of La Plata County to accept her way of thinking. I am so thankful for those who demanded a copy of the proposed land-use codes and brought it to the attention of the landowners. We now realize that we have sat back with our heads in the sand too long. In the wise words of Wyatt Earp, tell your fellow commissioners that “The La Plata Liberty Coalition is coming, and hell is coming with us!”
