The Glacier Club is not facing a water crisis, despite some rumors to the contrary.
The club asked members to conserve water earlier this week, as it switched the source of its main water supply.
Glacier Club’s main source of water is from the Animas River, though it has other sources, including Electra Lake and Elbert Creek. It switched to those sources when it decided to replace a piece of equipment in the water treatment facility.
Because of the switch, the club asked its residents to conserve water.
“It was just taking longer to produce some water,” said Glacier Club chief operating officer Bob Berkman. “So all we asked them to do is to conserve it. We have it rectified now.”
